An engraved Safavid tinned copper bowl of rounded form on a short foot decorated with champleve designs in two registers, the upper forming a series of arches a over lobed cartouches, the lower as a wider band of reciprocal palmettes. The Safavid dynasty (1501–1722) was the greatest dynasty to emerge from Iran in the Islamic period.
