A gilt-wood cartel clock made by Robert Engstrom (1864-1926) of Stockholm who specialised in both Gustavian and Empire styles and received the royal warrant to Queen Victoria of Sweden in 1910.
The fine water gilded and hand burnished case is surmounted by an urn containing fruit and flowers with trailing ribbons to the sides.The 8-day rectangular shaped late 19th movement chimes the hours and half hours on a top mounted bell, the signed convex white painted dial with black arabic numerals is contained within a finely fitting polished brass bezel with a convex glass the finely fretted gilt pierced brass hands in the form of foliage.
Recently restored and in full working order.
